Building a simulation-first approach to gyroscopic motorcycle stabilization — exploring vehicle dynamics, control strategies, and what it takes to recover from a lean.
Explore the projectI'm Eshan Singh Minhas — a University of Calgary mechanical engineering and physics student working across software, research, simulation, and real-world problem solving.
I'm driven by the process of taking something complex, understanding how it behaves, and building a better way forward.
My background spans mechanical engineering, physics, and software development. I have worked on energy-sector engineering, full-stack applications, scientific instrumentation, and control-system simulations — always with an eye toward practical results.
At Suncor, I worked with well and competitor data, built reporting dashboards, and supported an AI-camera automation initiative. At Aranite, I developed software applications. Across both experiences, I learned how to turn complex information into practical tools. Community service matters to me just as much as the technical work.

Explore the projectSelected figures from my motorcycle-stabilization simulation study. Success is specific to the simulated test conditions, not a guarantee of real-world performance.
Three connected layers, one engineering challenge. Choose a focus to see how the pieces work together.
Represent roll, steering, mass properties, and gyroscopic effects in a model that can be tested before hardware is built.
NONLINEAR MODELLING · VEHICLE GEOMETRYInteractive Python and Streamlit tools that turn complex calculations into visual, explorable comparisons.
Building and deploying self-hosted engineering dashboards, with thoughtful attention to accessibility and secure access.
I designed a Raspberry Pi–based control unit to coordinate an elemental analyzer, a Valco valve and a mass spectrometer, then developed a Python workflow to process sulfur-isotope measurements.
Results documented in my University of Calgary physics honours research. The diagram is a simplified system overview, not an equipment schematic.
During my 12-month internship at Suncor Energy, I worked across analysis, technical reporting, and operational automation — translating complex information into tools people could use.
Analyzed well and competitor-company information using TOP and SQL Server, bringing multiple sources together into a larger dataset.
Developed a Streamlit web application and a working Power BI dashboard to present findings and make comparisons easier to explore.
Supported project coordination for installing AI-enabled cameras intended to automate selected operational tasks.
I work across simulation, programming, and systems thinking — connecting engineering theory to real, usable outcomes.
Turning governing equations into models that explain complex system behaviour.

BEYOND THE WORK / 02I care about the ideas behind the work, but also the people it affects. From collaborating on technical projects to volunteering in my community, I try to bring curiosity, care, and follow-through to everything I do.
Engineering is a big part of my life. So are exploring new places, connecting with people, and giving back to the community.
I welcome conversations about engineering, software, research, and building things that make a difference.
